Overall, the U.S. accounts for about 75% of Ontario's total trade. The U.S. also accounts for 65% of foreign capital investment in Ontario. New York State alone accounts for over 5% of Ontario's two-way trade.
International Marketing Centre
The International Marketing Centre in New York is located in the Canadian Consulate General. The Centre in New York is active in promoting Ontario's strengths across many sectors, particularly Business and Financial Services, Outsourcing, Life Sciences, and Research and Development and Commercialization.
Staff activities include, but are not limited to:
- Working with Ontario firms looking for opportunities in New York and other nearby states
- Promoting awareness of and access to Ontario-produced goods and services
- Working with local companies to find investment opportunities in Ontario
- Building relationships with the media and local governments
