Aleid Diepeveen has a degree in Management & Technology from the University of Twente with a specific focus on water treatment technologies and a MIT Sloan School of Management degree after following the Fellows Program in Innovation and Global Leadership. She is currently active in the water sector as Director of the Innovation Program in Water Technology at the Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP). Aleid has developed a deep understanding of the relation between research, market and entrepreneurship and the public water infrastructure during her current and past employment at knowledge institute Wetsus (Scientific Project Manager), water supply company Drenthe (Account Manager Industrial Water Supply) and technology provider Norit (Business Development Assistance).
The Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) is a comprehensive network that unites Dutch water expertise. Alois Flatz Managing Partner zouk ventures limited
In his professional carrier, Alois Flatz has focused for more than 19 years exclusively on the interface of investing and sustainable development, including the establishment of private equity and financial advisory businesses.
Alois is a Managing Partner of zouk ventures (www.zouk.com), an independent, London-based private equity fund manager focused on cleantech markets. zouk manages over €350m in funds following two distinct tracks: expansion capital in clean technology companies (Cleantech Europe I & II) and development-stage project equity in clean infrastructure (zouk Solar Opportunities Ltd). Alois led zouk's investment in SiC Processing AG and served as a board member of the company, the global leader in slurry recycling for the solar and semiconductor wafer industry (www.sic-processing.com). A majority stake in the company was sold after a 3 year period of growth, generating one of the European Cleantech market's best returns of recent years.

Previously, Alois served as Partner of SAM Group Ltd, an asset management company focused on sustainability investments (www.sam-group.com; total asset amount Dec 31, 10: €11.8bn). As Head of Research, he was responsible for the team which was independently rated No #1 in the World, as well as for product development and the establishment of the SAM Indexes.

Amol joined KPCB in April 2008 and focuses on greentech with special emphasis on technologies related water, waste, fuels/chemicals and sustainable agriculture.
At KPCB, Amol serves on the board of directors of Harvest, a company focused on next generation waste management technologies. Amol is also on the board of directors of the KPCB's first water investment, APTwater. Amol is also on the board of directors 3 other ventures all in the water or waste sectors and closely involved with KPCB investments in Siluria, Hara Software and Next Autoworks.
Prior to KPCB, Amol spent 3 years at at Black River and Cargill Ventures, both investment oriented business units of the private agribusiness, Cargill, Inc. While at Cargill, Amol focused on Greentech investment throughout the energy, water and agricultural supply chain. Amol was directly involved with investments and initiatives in multiple Greentech verticals including solar, next generation fuels, sustainable agriculture, industrial biotech, waste/environmental sciences and carbon markets. Amol was also responsible for maintaining relationships with key innovative business units within Cargill and tracking innovation in Greentech both inside and outside of the organization. Prior to Cargill, Amol was an entrepreneur having founded an agricultural biotechnology company focused on novel germplasm in high value vegetable crops as well as companies in the water sector and educational services sector. In this, Amol has extensive experience in writing business plans, fundraising and guiding strategy for new enterprises at all stages of development.
Amol has a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign. Amol also has an MBA from Cornell University where he was a Park Fellow, receiving a full tuition merit based scholarship based on future leadership potential in business world. |

Dr. Andrew Benedek Chief Executive Director UTS Bioenergy
Dr. Andrew Benedek received his engineering degree (chemical) from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, in 1966. By 1970, Dr. Benedek obtained a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, U.S.A., with a focus on wastewater treatment. He then accepted a professorship at McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada where he taught and conducted research to find ways of improving water quality.
In 1980, Dr. Benedek founded ZENON Environmental Inc., with the purpose of developing cost effective membrane technologies for recycling wastewater. Under his leadership, ZENON has invented many of the key membrane technologies used for water and wastewater treatment and became the global leader in this field. Dr. Benedek continued to be the chairman and CEO of ZENON until its June 2006 sale to General Electric. At the time of the sale, the company had annual sales of approximately CDN $250 Million and employed 1,500 people.
After the sale of the company, Dr Benedek worked at the Scripps Institute of Technology in San Diego where he became interested in helping to find solutions to the Global Climate Change problem . In view of this new interest, he left Scripps to develop renewable energy waste. In 2008, he became the Managing Director of UTS BiogasTechnik GMBH, a German pioneer in biogas generation from waste. Once the Germany company had a renewed strong leadership, he started UTS Bioenergy LLC in Encinitas, CA as well as a number of other companies to produce energy from municipal wastewater as well as industrial and agricultural waste.
Dr Benedek's has received many awards. These include honorary doctorates from Universities, awards for entrepreneurship and for contributions toward solving global problems. For example, in 2008, he was chosen as the inaugural recipient of one of the most prestigious prizes in the world for contributions to solving water problems, the Lee Kwan Yew Prize.
Dr. Benedek served on many public boards such as the National Research Council of Canada. Currently, he is a member of the Board of IWA (the International Water Association) where he also serves as a member of the Council of Distinguished Water Professionals. In addition he is a member of the International Advisory panel of the Government of Singapore and a member of the Lee Kwan Yew prize nominating committee.. Noted as a leading authority on global water related issues, he has written over 100 scientific papers on different water and wastewater treatment technologies and lectured extensively as keynote speaker to learned societies around the world. |

Andy Seidel President and CEO Underground Solutions, Inc.
Andy Seidel is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Underground Solutions, Inc. (UGSI) which is headquartered in Poway, CA with offices nationwide. He is also a member of the UGSI Board of Directors. UGSI provides infrastructure technologies for water/wastewater applications, and conduit for applications ranging from electrical to fiber optics.
Seidel is the former CEO of United States Filter Corporation (USFilter), which was the nation's leading provider of water and wastewater products, systems and services. As a founding executive of USFilter, he was a key member of the team that built and managed USFilter, the largest water and wastewater company in North America, growing USFilter from $17 million to over $6 billion in sales in only eight years.
In addition to his past position as CEO of USFilter, Seidel is a former director of USFilter (formerly NYSE: USF), Aqua America (formerly known as Philadelphia Suburban - NYSE: WTR), and National Waterworks, a leading water infrastructure distribution company now owned by Home Depot. Seidel also served on the Management Board of Veolia, S.A., the French-based water and wastewater company (NYSE:VE). He is currently a director of Heckmann Corp. (NYSE: HEK) a company focused on water treatment and transportation and serves on the Advisory Board of Vantage Point Venture Partners – one of the largest Clean-Tech venture funds.
He received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Between his employment with Hercules Chemical Company and Deloitte & Touche Management Consulting, he completed an MBA program at the Wharton School of the University of PA. |

Assaf Barnea CEO Kinrot Ventures
Mr. Assaf Barnea is the CEO of Kinrot Ventures, the leading seed investor in water technologies worldwide, which is privately held by AquAgro Cleantech fund, in cooperation with the Israeli OCS (Office of the Chief Scientist).
Mr. Barnea was managing the Business Development activity at Mekorot, Israel’s national water company, where he oversaw the establishment of WaTech - the Entrepreneurship & Partnership Center for Water Technologies, a program which supports new innovative water technologies solutions that are relevant to Mekorot's daily operations.
Prior to Mekorot, he served for four years as a director of business development at Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), a global telecom provider. Mr. Barnea is also a founder and a BOD member of Cardiosense, a medical device startup company. He is a certified lawyer, holds both law and business degrees from the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzelia and a political science and psychology degree from Tel-Aviv University.

Bob Wolpert is President of ITT Flow Control and is responsible for the strategy and operations of this global business with premium brands in low-flow pumps, valves and membrane filters across multiple industries.
Wolpert began his career with ITT in 2003 as Global Vice President of Six Sigma and Lean for ITT Electronic Components, and then served as Vice President, General Manager for ITT Interconnect Solutions before assuming his current role at ITT Flow Control.
Prior to joining ITT, Wolpert had over 20 years experience in general management, leading performance turnarounds and growth oriented business expansion. He held leadership roles at several companies, including Lockheed Martin and DST Systems.
Wolpert currently serves a number of other roles for ITT including that of Innovation Champion for the ITT commercial businesses; a member of the Board of Directors of ITT's political action committee and several ITT international subsidiaries and JV's; and is an ITT panel member for project proposal reviews supporting the Disaster Risk Reduction Initiative sponsored by the Emergency Capacity Building Project.

Booky Oren Chairman and CEO of Booky Oren, Global Water Technologies Chairman of WATEC Israel
Oren has experience of over 25 years in a variety of global and local industries and markets. At the beginning of the millennium Oren turned from the high-tech industry to the water industry.
Oren served as Corporate Business Development VP at Netafim, the world's largest drip and micro-irrigation Company.
In 2003, he was appointed Executive Chairman of Mekorot, the Israel National Water Company. Oren initiated and implemented into Mekorot a new business approach that enabled among others to establish the WaTech - Partnership Center, using the company's facilities as beta sites for new external innovation thus creating for the company technological improvements while generating new revenue stream (www.mekorot.co.il/eng).
Oren is among the initiators of the government's decision to set water industry as an industry of national priority - Israel NEWTech (www.israelnewtech.gov.il).
At the end of 2006, Oren joined the Arison group and was the co-founder of Miya, which became a world leading company in the field of urban water loss, water systems optimization and efficiency (www.miya-water.com).
In parallel, as part of the national program, Oren began his role as Chairman of WATEC Israel, an international event (www.watec-israel.com). The events (2007 and 2009) were a huge success. In 2009 there were 150 international delegations and tens of thousands of participants.
Oren has set a goal for WATEC 2011 to focus on "i2i" - innovation to implementation to implement the new innovations on a large scale in the global Cleantech sector. Thus reinforcing Israel's position as a global "Silicon Valley" for Cleantech solutions. At the beginning of 2011 Oren initiated his own company - Booky Oren, Global Water Technologies - that will support implementation of proven innovation in the global water sector.

Bertrand Camus Chief Executive Officer United Water / Suez Environnement North America
Bertrand Camus serves as CEO of United Water's nationwide water and wastewater operations. These encompass both regulated and non-regulated businesses. In addition, he is CEO of Suez Environnement North America.
Prior to joining United Water, Camus served as director of internal audit for Suez Environnement, United Water's parent company. In that capacity, he was responsible for overseeing compliance within the Group's operations in 30 countries around the world. In addition to expertise in finance, long-term investment and sustainable development, Camus has a wealth of experience in international water operations. He served as chief operating officer of Aguas Argentinas, an affiliate of Suez Environnement. In that capacity he was responsible for overseeing water and wastewater operations which served eight million people living in Greater Buenos Aires.
Before joining Aguas Argentinas, Camus held various business development positions with Suez Environnement. As business development director of Southeast Asia he was based in Kuala Lumpur where he was involved with the development of new contracts and acquisition of companies in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Korea. Prior to that Camus was based in Paris where he served as director of international projects. His accomplishments included public-private partnerships in Budapest and Casablanca.
Camus began his career in project financing at Banque Nationale de Paris where he structured and implemented funding for large infrastructure projects throughout the world.

F. Henry Habicht II Managing Partner SAIL
Hank joined SAIL in January 2006 as a pioneering figure in the areas of environmental business and policy and a leading contributor to environmental innovation. He has been influential in spearheading many of SAIL's portfolio company investments. Hank and Managing Partner Walter Schindler are responsible for co-managing all aspects of SAIL's operations and investments.
His career as a leading member of the environmental policy world has included leadership positions at the U.S. Department of Justice as Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Environment and Natural Resources Division, and at the U.S. EPA as COO (Deputy Administrator). During his time with the EPA he oversaw the development of new air and water programs to prevent pollution, including the development of the Energy Star program and implementation of market based trading programs under the 1990 Clean Air Act amendments.
In business, Hank served as Senior VP in charge of acquisitions and other divisions of Safety-Kleen, a billion-dollar environmental service company. He has also held positions and started ventures in the for-profit environmental arena, including VP of William D. Ruckelshaus Associates, which co-managed the successful Environmental Venture Fund, one of the first successful green funds in the 1980s. As Co-Founder of Capital E, LLC, a strategic consultancy for emerging renewable energy products and technologies, he advised Fortune 100 and early stage ventures on sustainable growth strategies. He previously served as CEO and is now Vice Chairman of a prestigious non-for-profit corporation that fosters innovation in environmental management and promotes applications of clean technology in emerging markets, called Global Environment & Technology Foundation (GETF.)
Hank has held numerous Board seats over the years, currently he sits on the Boards of SAIL companies WaterHealth International, and Xtreme Power, and is a Co-Founder of the American Council of Renewable Energy. He is Commissioner of the National Commission on Energy Policy, has advised several Cabinet Secretaries. He is on the Advisory Board to the National Renewable Energy Lab and the Pacific Northwest National Lab. In 1991 the EPA awarded him with the esteemed Total Quality Leadership Award and in 2009 he received the national Richard Mellon Award for Environmental Stewardship. H.J. (Hank) Vander Laan Founder and Senior Advisor Trojan Technologies
Mr. Vander Laan founded Trojan Technologies Inc. in 1976, acquiring the patent for a small ultraviolet device for private water supply applications. Building upon that concept he developed a company that is now a global leader in its field with revenues well in excess of $200 million per year.
After 25 years as President at Trojan, Mr. Vander Laan handed over the leadership of the company to the next generation and was appointed Chairman of the Board. In December 2004, Trojan Technologies was acquired by Danaher Corp., a large international company based in Washington, DC.
Prior to founding Trojan Technologies, Mr. Vander Laan was Vice President of Canadian Cable Systems Limited (currently Rogers Cable Systems) from 1969 to 1977, where he was responsible for technical operations and personnel for the largest cable television company in Canada.
Mr. Vander Laan received his education at The University of Western Ontario and was appointed to the University's Board of Governors in 2002, and served as Vice Chair. He served as chair of the board of The Stiller Centre of Technology Commercialization, served on the board of UWO Research Park and was the Founding Chair of London TechAlliance. Mr. Vander Laan served as a board member on the Ontario Government's Clean Water Legacy Trust and is currently on the Investment & Trade Advisory Council to the Provincial Ministry of Economic Development & Trade. Jeff Garwood joined GE in 1992 in business development and sourcing at GE's global headquarters and later served in a variety of management roles at GE Plastics, including global M&A, leading the Engineered Styrenics Resins business and plant management responsibilities. He then worked outside GE from 1999 to 2001 where he assumed chief operating officer roles for Commerx and Youcentric, early stage IT firms. He rejoined GE in Aircraft Engines in 2001 as president of Garrett Aviation Services and was named president and CEO of GE Fanuc Automation in 2003. After three successful years leading GE Fanuc Automation, he assumed the role of President & CEO of GE Water & Process Technologies in February 2006.

Jeffry Sterba is president and chief executive officer (CEO) of American Water, the largest investor-owned U.S. water and wastewater utility company. Mr. Sterba brings more than 30 years of exceptional operational experience and a wealth of industry knowledge to American Water.

John Burns is the Global Food and Beverage Industry Marketing Director at GE, Water and Process Technologies. John Coburn Managing Director XPV Capital Corporation
Prior to joining XPV in January 2006, Mr. Coburn was a private investor focused on the water industry. He was one of the earliest employees of ZENON Environmental, and as President and Chief Operating Officer, he helped grow the company from start up to over $146M in revenue with a market capitalization of $700M. Upon leaving ZENON in 2002, he was awarded the "Architect of ZENON Award" to recognize his efforts in building the company from start up to a world leader in water treatment. ZENON was subsequently acquired by GE in 2006. Mr. Coburn's water expertise began during the first 10 years of his career with Environment Canada, where he held various technical and senior management roles. He published over 20 scientific research papers and journal articles related to water treatment and its impact on the environment. Laurent Auguste President and CEO Veolia Water Americas
Appointed president and CEO for Veolia Water Americas in 2008, Mr. Auguste leads Veolia Water's activities in North and South America. He is a member of the Executive Committee for Veolia Water, the world's No. 1 water company.
The company's North American operations serve 270 municipal and industrial customers and a population of 15 million. South American activities are largely performed through Proactiva Media Ambiente, a joint venture with FCC, a Spanish construction company.

Paul Gagliardo, M.P.H., P.E. Manager - Innovation Development American Water
Mr. Gagliardo is well known throughout the United States, in Europe and Asia for his defining work on indirect potable reuse as a scheme to supplement the potable water supply in San Diego, California . He has pioneered the efficacy testing and use of new technologies in businesses that vary from energy conservation, hazardous waste remediation, solid waste resource recovery, water treatment, wastewater treatment, contaminant monitoring and strategic planning. He has authored over fifty technical papers on subjects ranging from low and high pressure membrane systems, monitoring systems, UV disinfection systems, strategic planning and watershed management. He has given presentations on five continents and in ten different countries and has been the invited keynote speaker on multiple occasions.
During his twenty plus years at the City of San Diego, Paul created and managed the Aqua2000 Research Center. This program focused on the testing of new technologies for use in the water and wastewater business. The Aqua2000 Research Center helped develop the membrane bioreactor system from a novelty to the de facto technology of choice for recycled water applications. Paul's team developed the performance test protocols that are being used by the California Department of Health Services to determine if systems can be used in specific potable water and recycled water applications. He prepared and submitted performance analyses to the California DHS for acceptance on over twenty new technologies.
Since leaving the City of San Diego he has continued to assist innovators in the development of their new products and help them become commercialized. Currently, Mr. Gagliardo is the Manager - Innovation Development for American Water. In this position he is responsible for identifying new technologies that can be incorporated into American Water's various business enterprises. The IDP's primary objective is to look for innovations that enhance American Water's water and wastewater services, increase operational efficiencies, lower operational costs and position American Water for growth in the areas of reuse, desalination and wastewater bioenergy. Paul is responsible for the identification and screening of ideas and navigating those selected ideas through a Stage-Gate process toward eventual commercialization inside and outside of American Water facilities.
Mr. Gagliardo is a registered engineer in the state of California and has a Master's Degree in Public Health. He was appointed to the State of California 2003 Water Plan Update Advisory Committee, and, was instrumental in fund raising for the successful proposition 50 Water Bond campaign. |

Steve Watzeck Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer GE Water & Process Technologies
Steve Watzeck is chief strategy & marketing officer, GE Water and Process Technologies an integrated part of GE Power and Water, a position he has held since April 2010. In this role, he is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company and program direction for marketing activities across the chemical and equipment based water business globally. In addition, he is responsible to position the long-term growth of the business by ensuring GE's products and services are setting the standard in the industry and that the company continues to expand into new markets.
From 2009 to 2010, Watzeck was general manager, engineered systems for GE Water and Process Technologies. During his tenure he successfully built an organization with a strong leadership team, provided commercial focus, grew the backlog, improved operating profitability and aligned research and development with the company's reuse strategy. He led the global strategy and execution for equipment-based products and services, including reverse osmosis process systems, mobile units, ultrafiltration and membrane bioreactors, filters and membranes and thermal/ZLD systems.
Prior to that, he was the global engineering and projects leader for the equipment based water business from 2007 - 2008.
In 2006, GE acquired ZENON, and concurrently Watzeck was appointed general manager for the business. Watzeck joined ZENON in 1994, and held several positions of increasing responsibility for international and North American business development and commercial activities, including serving as senior vice president, Americas, and vice president, municipal.

Thomas Rooney President and Chief Executive Officer Energy Recovery Inc.
Thomas S. Rooney, Jr. is an experienced leader who joined ERI in February 2011 as its new president and chief executive officer. He brings nearly 30 years of extensive experience in successfully leading companies through strategic transformations and helping them to capitalize on new market opportunities. Most recently, Mr. Rooney was the CEO of SPG Solar, one of the largest solar integrators in the United States. Under his leadership, SPG dramatically improved operational efficiencies, expanded to a national enterprise and doubled its profits.
Prior to his role at SPG Solar, Mr. Rooney was President and CEO at Insituform Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: INSU)a global, publically traded company providing proprietary technologies and services for rehabilitating sewer, water, energy and mining piping systems. While at Insituform, he significantly strengthened the company financially, technically and operationally.
Mr. Rooney has served on the board of Beijing-based Duoyuan Global Water, Inc. (NYSE: DGW) and was part of the team that helped guide the company through its IPO in 2009. He also served as a member of the technical advisory board for Advanced Energy Industries (NASDAQ: AEIS) a leader in energy conversion devices and control technologies.
Mr. Rooney is currently the Chairman of the Board of EnerTech Environmental, Inc. an innovator in the area of clean combustion technologies for biosolids for the waste water treatment industry.
Mr. Rooney is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering. He also holds a Masters of Business and Finance from the University of Chicago. |

Trevor B. Hill, P.Eng. President and CEO Global Water Resources
Raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Mr. Hill graduated in 1987 from Royal Military College with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Hill attended the Royal Naval Engineering College in Plymouth, England where he completed his post-graduate studies in 1988. He served with the Canadian Navy as an Engineering Officer retiring in 1994 after serving as Deputy Engineering officer in HMCS Huron in the Gulf War 1991 where he was decorated with the Gulf Kuwait Medal.
In 1994 Mr. Hill co-founded Hill, Murray & Associates, a design-build-operate firm specializing in the construction and operation of water reclamation facilities in British Columbia and the Canadian Arctic. Mr. Hill oversaw the permitting, design, construction, commissioning and operation of many "first-in-the-field" systems, including the first fully recycling commercial and school buildings in Canada. He has been instrumental in developing water reclamation codes, rules and regulations for the Province of British Columbia, and advancing water stewardship through his Total Water Management philosophy. In 2000, Mr. Hill co-founded Algonquin Water Resources of America, a division of the Algonquin Power Income Fund. In his role of Director of Operations for AWRA, he led the acquisition team, acquiring 6 utilities in three years and amassing 37,000 utility customers in Arizona and Texas.
In 2003, Mr. Hill co-founded Global Water Resources, an Arizona-based company established to acquire regulated water and wastewater utilities in the arid Southwestern states and to advance the cause of water reclamation and reuse as a conservation methodology. Mr. Hill provides leadership and policy direction with respect to water reclamation and re-use, water use efficiency and the economics of water reclamation and served on the Governor's Blue Ribbon Panel on Water Sustainability. Global Water has been recognized for its leadership in water conservation, environmental education and communications receiving the 2009 Environmental Achievement Award in Region 9 of the Environmental Protection Agency.
In 2009 Global Water launched FATHOMTM, a technology enabled software-as-a-service platform designed to provide state of the art back-office services to municipal water utilities and in 2010 received the Governor's Green Innovator of the Year Award at the Arizona Governor's Celebration of Innovation.
In 2010, Mr. Hill led a $65 million Initial Public Offering on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The British Columbia-based company, GWR Global Water Resources Corp, owns approximately 48.1% of the Global Water U.S. company. |

Usha Rao-Monari Global Head of Water, Infrastructure and Natural Resources International Finance Corporation
Usha Rao-Monari is currently the Global Head of Water in the Infrastructure and Natural Resources Department of IFC, covering the global Utilities and Public Private Partnerships practice group.
Ms. Rao-Monari joined the IFC through the Young Professionals Program in 1990, and has since gained substantial experience in the Infrastructure, Manufacturing and Petrochemicals sectors in several countries and regions of the world. In 1998, she assumed the position of Regional Manager for Manufacturing and Services for South Asia and Country Head for India, based in IFC's New Delhi regional office. Ms. Rao-Monari assumed her current responsibility in 2001, when she returned to Washington DC.
Ms. Rao-Monari holds an MBA from the Bajaj School of Management in Bombay, and a Masters in International Economics and Finance from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. Prior to joining IFC, she was a Vice President at Prudential-Bache Capital Funding, working both in New York and London. |

Dr. Vicky J. Sharpe President and CEO Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC)
Vicky Sharpe is President and CEO of Sustainable Development Technology Canada, a Government of Canada initiative whose mission is to help develop and commercialize clean technologies that will strengthen economic and environmental performance in Canada.
Clean technologies contribute to the economy by increasing the productivity and competitiveness of industry while simultaneously reducing environmental impact. Recognizing this, SDTC is committed to supporting technologies that contribute to clean air, climate change, clean water and clean land. As founding CEO, Dr. Sharpe has increased the funding pool from $100M to over $1B and mobilized private sector capital resulting in more than $2.9B of investments for projects and commercialization activities.
With over 25 years of experience in the energy industry, Dr. Sharpe has successfully integrated sustainable development into business practices. As President of GRI Canada and Astral Group, she demonstrated leadership and vision in the use of innovative technologies across Canada's primary economic sectors. As Vice President of Ontario Hydro International Inc., Dr. Sharpe created new global revenue streams for environmental and energy utilization practices. Prior to that, she held management positions in marketing, business development and technology innovation.
Dr. Sharpe has served on numerous technology and industry association committees, in particular as an international advisor on sustainability issues; has represented the Canadian energy sector at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Forum; and has chaired both the National Advisory Board on Energy, Science and Technology, and the Board of Directors of Clean Air Canada Inc. Her efforts were recognized with the National Energy Conservation Association's inaugural Energy Efficiency Award for outstanding contributions to the energy industry.
Dr. Sharpe is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Alberta Enterprise Corporation, whose mandate is to finance and build new knowledge-based industries in Alberta. As part of her leadership in building a cleantech infrastructure, Dr. Sharpe is a founding member of the Steering Committee of the UNEP SEF Alliance, an international coalition of public and publicly-backed clean energy funding organizations, operating under the remit of the UN's Sustainable Energy Finance Initiative. Dr. Sharpe is helping to shape the Canadian cleantech landscape through the provision of strategic advice including her role on the Ontario Premier's Climate Change Advisory Panel. She is also a Director for the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), Carbon Management Canada Inc. (CMC), a national research network focused on carbon management in Canada's fossil energy sector, and the Biowaste to Energy for Canada integrated initiative Corp. (BECii).
As a widely recognized expert and advocate for sustainable development and technology innovation, she has addressed both national and international audiences to promote an understanding of the culture shift in values society must make to secure a sustainable future.

Vikram Rao Executive Director Research Triangle Energy Consortium
Vikram Rao is Executive Director, Research Triangle Energy Consortium, a non-profit in energy founded by Duke University, North Carolina State University, RTI International and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He recently retired as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Halliburton Company where he was responsible for the Company's technology effort, as well as the setup and management of the intellectual asset management function.
Previously Dr. Rao also held executive management positions in Research and Development, Product Launch, Reservoir Studies, and Sales and Marketing. He joined the Company in 1974 as a Senior Research Engineer.
Dr. Rao serves in technical and business advisory capacities to energy companies, technology companies, NGO's and universities, in the US and elsewhere. He has served on the Boards of numerous start ups.
Dr. Rao holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India, along with a master's degree and a doctorate in engineering from Stanford University. He is the author of more than 40 publications and has been awarded 26 patents. |

He was previously the Center Director in Chicago since 2008, and was responsible for working with Midwest based multinationals and fast-growing companies to explore opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.
