Minister Gerretsen attended “TICO Awareness Day” at Toronto’s Union Station, February 8, 2011. The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) created the event to remind Ontarians who are planning a holiday to protect their travel investment by booking with a TICO registered agency. Also attending was TICO’s mascot, the ‘travel industry watchdog’.

Our Minister of Consumer Services, Ted McMeekin, recently spoke at a media seminar hosted by Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) in Jordan Ontario. Approximately 30 wine columnists and writers attended the seminar, which focused on the origins of wine cultivated in the Niagara Peninsula. VQA is Ontario's wine authority under the Vinters Quality Alliance Act, 1999. As a provincial regulatory authority, it reports to the Minister of Consumer Services and conducts wine testing, audits, inspections and ensures compliance with the act. Learn more...
