Telephone and Long Distance Services

Telecommunication services are federally regulated in Canada.

The Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications Services helps to resolve telecommunication complaints, including:

  • problems with service delivery, such as failure to install services in a timely manner or frequent interruptions to service
  • contract disputes, such as when you believe your provider is not living up to its agreement
  • billing errors or disputed charges
  • problems with security deposits or payment arrangements
  • unauthorized transfer of service, sometimes known as “slamming.”

For more information or to lodge a complaint, visit the Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications Services.
