If a contractor claims your home renovation qualifies for a government grant or subsidy, do your research before signing the contract.
Identify the grants or tax credits that might apply and make sure that you will be eligible. If you are still unsure whether you qualify, check with the government ministry, department or agency offering the tax credit or grant.
Finally, always make sure that all key terms and conditions of your home renovation are included in the contract.
