Cemeteries Regulation Unit

The Ontario Association of Cemetery and Funeral Professionals (OACFP) is offering education sessions in October and November, 2011.

The Cemeteries Regulation Unit regulates the licensing of cemeteries, crematoria, mausolea, columbaria and cemetery salespersons. The Cemeteries Regulation Unit also manages the administrative procedures when a burial site is discovered.

Currently the Unit administers the Cemeteries Act (Revised). The Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002, will govern the operations of the Unit when it comes into force in July 2012.
