Board of Funeral Services
The Board of Funeral Services regulates funeral directors, transfer service operations and funeral service establishments. It administers industry standards of practice, professional expertise and ethics.
The Board also administers the Prepaid Funeral Services Compensation Fund. Currently the Board operates under The Funeral Directors and Establishments Act.
The Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002, will govern the operations of the Board when it comes into force in 2012.
