Administrative Authorities
Ontario Film Review Board

The Ontario Film Review Board (OFRB) classifies movies, videos, DVDs, VCDs and video games before they are screened or distributed in Ontario.

In its activities, the Board aims to reflect the standards of Ontario's diverse communities. All film and video distributed or exhibited in Ontario (with some defined exceptions) must be reviewed by the Board in accordance with the Film Classification Act of Ontario.

The Ministry’s Theatres Regulation Unit provides administrative support to the OFRB and also regulates the distribution and exhibition of film and video games through movie theatres, film, video and video game distributors, and retailers.
